Psychological Assessment

An accurate profile of a student’s cognitive, achievement, and behavioral strengths and weaknesses is essential when determining how effectively to teach that student. This is also essential when choosing appropriate interventions, therapies, and accommodations. Public school evaluations are designed with a different purpose, and may not be in your child's best interest.

Private and independent schools require cognitive tests as part of the admission process. Cognitive tests may also be needed for admission to gifted programs at public schools. The type of cognitive testing most often used for school admissions is an I.Q. test.

Psychotherapy

Emotions play a critical role in child development. Children who cope well with emotions and have good social skills are generally more confident. They make friends easily and demonstrate a positive attitude toward learning.

We work with individuals, families, and couples ages 3 through to adulthood.

We have expertise working with Anxiety and Depression, ADHD, Autism, Trauma, Functional Neurological disorders, Eating disorders, as well as a wide range of other concerns.

Clinical Supervision

Simpson-Southward, Wallar, & Hardy (2017) state that supervisors have management and ethical oversight, teaching and skill growth, and finally, insight and emotional skill building. Supervisor and supervisee relationships are a reflection of the supervisee's inter/intrapersonal Britt and Gleaves (2011) found that the relationship between supervisor/supervisee was the most crucial factor of successful supervision. The supervisor qualities that emerged most frequently were first, collaboration and mutual understanding, second, genuineness, and finally, professional behavior and interactions (Britt and Gleaves, 2011).
